The Highest Honors for Vocational and Technological College and University: Call for National Award for Distinguished Contribution to Industry-Academia Cooperation

The "National Award for Distinguished Contribution to Industry-Academia Cooperation," of the Ministry of Education holds the most significant prestige within the realm of Vocational and Technological College and University. Its primary objective is to incentivize educators in these institutions to actively engage in practical research and development endeavors, while also fostering the cultivation of professional and technical expertise. Furthermore, this accolade serves as a means to recognize and reward teachers who have demonstrated exemplary achievements in their respective fields.

The award has entered in its sixth year. Recommendations will be accepted starting from the announcement date (for details, as indicated in the official website of the National Award for Distinguished Contribution to Industry-Academia Cooperation). We extend our invitation to receive applications from educators who are currently employed as full-time teachers in public or private institutions such as junior college, institute of technology, and university of science and technology. Additionally, we encourage the National Science and Technology Council, Ministry of Economic Affairs, industry (enterprises), industry (enterprise) public associations, and schools to recommend eligible candidates to partake in the selection process.

The candidates have the opportunities to submit their applications for the award in five distinct fields based on their achievements in particular R& D and talent cultivation: "Engineering", "Electrical Engineering and Computer Science", "Humanities, Design and Arts", "Business Administration and Human Ecology", and "Agricultural Science, Biotechnology and Nursing". The nominees will receive a prestigious lifetime honor, and the recipient of the award will be granted a prize of NT$900,000. This prize will be bestowed upon the winner following a rigorous three-stage evaluation process, which includes preliminary examination, re-examination, and final review.
