Establishment of Regional Industry Talent and Technology Cultivation Bases Plan Pre-Unveiling Visits Initiated

In alignment with the government's six core strategic industries and the 5+2 industrial innovation policy directions, the Ministry of Education has been promoting the "Establishment of Regional Industry Talent and Technology Cultivation Bases Plan" since 2022, with a four-year investment of NT$2.4 billion aimed at assisting colleges and universities to focus on industrial technology competencies. The plan includes the establishment of at least 20 key industry talent cultivation bases, linking regional industries to jointly nurture high-quality talents. The Taiwan Assessment and Evaluation Association (TWAEA), entrusted by the Ministry of Education to manage this plan, has approved 17 regional talent cultivation bases to date, including in fields such as information security, semiconductors, railway electromechanics, offshore wind power, and electric vehicles.

Considering the completion of spatial renovations and the procurement of teaching equipment at various bases, as well as the upcoming unveiling ceremonies, the Association has initiated pre-unveiling visits since October of 2023 to provide timely guidance and assistance. During these visits, members not only listen to school briefings to understand the setup of bases, the plans for unveiling ceremonies, and the planning of associated activities but also tour the event venues to offer suggestions for improvement. Through two-way communication, these efforts aim to enhance the preparation of ceremonies and assist in shaping the bases to reflect local industry characteristics, ultimately achieving the goal of cultivating high-quality professional and technical talents.
