TWAEA was commissioned by the Ministry of Education to organize “Selection & Assessment of the Projects from Faculty of Industry”. This project emphasizes practical teaching and hands-on learning, enabling the students to quickly connect with industries after graduation and become professional applied talents. By promoting this project, we hope to encourage vocational and technical colleges and universities to focus on national key industries and take career bridging as their orientation to cultivate excellent professional talents with the industries while increasing teachers’ practical innovation and teaching quality, hoping to strengthen the industry-academia collaboration in Taiwan.

Vocational education plays an important role in providing human resources for the national infrastructure and promoting the further economic development of Taiwan. We must adjust the talent cultivation strategies according to the industry trend and society needs. Starting from 2014, the Ministry of Education has actively promoted Faculty of Industry, encouraging vocational and technological college and university to focus on key industries and organize talent cultivation programs with the industries to shorten the gap between learning and application and meet the talent needs. In 2020, the Ministry of Education adjusted the project and amended the “Implementation Points for Subsidizing Vocational and Technological College and University’s Development of Faculty of Industry”, which the dual track system was adopted for the subsidy. With years of experience in conducting evaluations, reviews and visits, TWAEA hopes to assist in promoting the projects that can create the value of technical education and excellent talents.
